the struggle continues… on nicaragua’s caribbean coast

alterNative

The work of Luciano Baracco has featured on the blog before (see here for a review of National Integration and Contested Autonomy, edited by Luciano last year). Now he has edited another volume, a special issue of the AlterNative journal, which looks at autonomy on Nicaragua’s Caribbean Coast.

Luciano has edited the new volume jointly with Miguel Gonzalez (who comes from Bluefields and works in York University, Canada). It has contributions in English and Sumu-Mayangna from leading scholars addressing indigenous land claims, gender, political participation, and violence, and a historical overview of the struggle for autonomy on Nicaragua’s Caribbean Coast.

Mae gwaith Luciano Baracco wedi ymddangos ar ein blog o’r blaen (gweler fan hyn am adolygiad o lyfr National Integration and Contested Autonomy, golygwyd gan Luciano llynedd). Yn awr mae wedi golygu llyfr newydd, pennod arbennig o gylchgrawn AlterNative, sy’n edrych ar awtonomi ar Arfordir y Caribi Nicaragua.

Mae Luciano yn golygu’r cylchgrawn ar y cyd gyda Miguel Gonzalez (sy’n dod o Bluefields yn wreiddiol, ac sy’n gweithio ym Mhrifysgol York, Canada ‘nawr). Mae’n cynnwys cyfraniadau yn Saesneg a Sumu-Mayangna gan ysgolheigion blaenllaw. Maent wedi ysgrifennu erthyglau ar hawliau tir y bobl gynhenid, rhyw/gender, cyfranogaeth wleidyddol, trais, gyda throsolwg o’r frwydr dros awtonomi ar yr Arfordir.
